This project will integrate greenhouse gas mitigation as part of the roll out of the CIAT led AgriLAC Resiliente adaptation programme in the region.

This will allow national institutions to consider the options available for mitigation along with their consequences, against available national adaptation pathways.

It will empower national institutions whose portfolio responsibilities include collection and management of data, inventory management and policy development related to emissions from agriculture to:

  • understand the sources and drivers of greenhouse gas emissions,

  • understand the criteria for designing and improving national inventories and transparent MRV systems,

  • understanding the methods for measuring and data treatment of greenhouse gas emissions,

  • understand the international reporting processes, and

  • develop national mitigation policy advice to government.
