What are we doing in ASEAN?
New Zealand has committed NZ$10 million (2020-2025) in funding to activities in the ASEAN Initiative. The initiative, which ended in June 2025, has improved national agricultural greenhouse gas inventories in our six partner countries, built capacity, increased networking between science and policy communities, and delivered successful regional research projects.
Regional Measurement Hubs are now established in the Philippines and Vietnam with the equipment and expertise to measure emissions in the region. The Hubs enable these countries to act as regional champions. Improved measurement equipment has also been installed in Laos and Cambodia. Please see country pages for details.
